Good staff are hard to find (or so the saying goes!)
This is the general situation with any business, but we are very fortunate with the team of people we currently have working for us. Our selection and interview process is rigorous and in depth, and over the last 10 years we have refined this and continually improved our employment methods.
Our current team are all locally based, hand-picked people with the main criteria being focused on being a great cleaner and a nice person. However, this is only one of the skills that we are looking for. We place great emphasis on the people we employ as they are the face of our business. Our team are very organised, mature and great independent workers.
They are pleasant, efficient and very capable of working in various scenarios. They are also very organised as we ensure appointments are timely and cover what the customer needs. This varies from property to property, so by using the same person for the customer they understand the client’s needs and more importantly, the time that they have to carry out their work.
Our Selection Process:
When a person applies to our company for a job we follow a set procedure.
– Full personal background check
– Face to face meeting
– DBS check to ensure they have no criminal background
– ID check
We always meet any potential staff. Unlike many other cleaning companies who never meet their staff, we like to see the person we are employing and chat to them. This sounds quite basic, but you can never tell what a person is like from a brief job application or CV.
Once we are happy with the individual and all checks have been carried out, we then provide staff guidance on how they are expected to act in a customer’s property.
Nothing is left to chance as all staff are taken out by the owner of Clean & Assist who assesses and checks the quality of their work. Training is then given where required.
In general, we want to be 100% confident in the person that we employ to represent our company, and we also want you, the customer, to be satisfied with the person that you are allowing into your property.
